During late 1999, Infrared Testing Inc. (ITI) was assisted by electrical
contractors and contracted university staff to develop a method of
translating an infrared image or "hot spot" into an annual energy cost in
dollars.
This objective was achieved and has since been substantiated by those
assisting in the development. Combining our survey procedure, the
proprietary calculations and minimal information obtained at the site we
can provide the client with a potential annual electrical savings dollar
value based on the findings of the survey.
The energy savings calculation provides plant and corporate
management with a true means of measuring the return on the investment
of the survey or survey program. In numerous cases the energy savings
potential far exceeds the cost of the survey itself.
